In Mexico, Colombia, and Chile, there is a presence of diseases characteristic of emerging countries, such as dengue, alongside a significant increase in modern lifestyle diseases, some of which are leading causes of mortality, such as cardiovascular diseases and cancers, and public health issues like diabetes.

The most important therapeutic areas include vaccines, oncology, infectious diseases, and hematology. In Chile, the pharmaceutical market is highly concentrated, with three players holding nearly 60% of sales points (Cruz Verde, Farmacias Ahumada, Salcobrand). Mexico is positioned as the second-largest pharmaceutical market in Latin America, with a turnover of EUR 10.5 billion in 2021 and a compound annual growth rate of 3.3% from 2016 to 2020. In Colombia, the medical devices market is the third-largest in Latin America and is heavily reliant on imports.

The French Healthcare Tour 2024 Latin America, organized by Business France, offers an immersion program from November 25 to 29, with in-person events in Mexico City for its 6th edition, and digital events in Colombia and Chile. This initiative aims to support French companies specializing in pharmaceuticals, biotechnologies, medical devices, and wellness products in their development in these dynamic markets.

This organization by Business France is part of its ongoing efforts to promote the French healthcare industry in Latin America.
