Scaleo Medical Group designs and markets innovative equipment and medical devices devised to make the lives of patients and caregivers easier. The company, which employs 72 people, uses its 1,000 m2 manufacturing site near Montpellier to produce a range of thirty models of patient lifts, shower trolleys and manual transfer solutions to reduce musculoskeletal disorders among caregivers. These devices are designed for care centres and hospitals.
In addition to its hygiene and transfer range, Scaleo Medical, which recorded turnover of €10 million in 2020, also offers oxygen therapy solutions. Its signature model, the oxygen concentrator Ho2rizon S5 (recovers the air around it to be filtered and delivered as pure oxygen at the outlet) a device designed for people suffering from respiratory failure, is distributed in more than 70 countries. On the market since late 2019, nearly 10,000 units of this five-litre capacity device have been sold, the Covid-19 pandemic contributing to a very large increase in demand.
“Around 2000 units have been sold in India since the start of the pandemic” specifies Youness Ramli, Export Sales Representative for the Middle East and North Africa Region.
The company has opened an office in Moscow and plans to set up an assembly line there, which will be its base for Russia as well as for the Asian markets. Scaleo Medical currently generates 10% of its sales through export, primarily in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
