French Healthcare association welcomed Roland Lescure, Vice-President of the French National Assembly and former Minister for Industry, to a themed lunch with its members. This intimate event provided an ideal opportunity to discuss topical issues such as healthcare sovereignty, transatlantic relations and France’s industrial priorities.

Roland Lescure, currently Vice-President of the French National Assembly and Member of Parliament for the French Abroad, is also the former Minister for Industry and Energy (2022-2024). As a key player in industrial healthcare policies, whether in terms of industrial sovereignty, decarbonisation or the financing of innovation, he has a close and valuable view of the issues facing industrial healthcare players.

Roland Lescure meets French Healthcare: collectively mobilising the driving forces

During this exchange on 29 November, Roland Lescure reaffirmed to the members the importance for France of strengthening national capacities in the production of drugs, medical devices and critical equipment. This issue, which is at the heart of many concerns, remains a shared priority to ensure the continued development of the French healthcare ecosystem internationally. He also praised the relevance of the collective approach to exports championed by French Healthcare association, while pointing out the industrial challenges ahead for France and Europe.

The members present also had the opportunity to question Mr Lescure on the latest parliamentary developments and their potential impact on the healthcare sector, particularly in terms of innovation funding, on the opportunities to be clarified in the Mercosur agreements, and on the changes to be expected in the balance of trade relations with North America.

This themed lunch illustrates once again the strength of French Healthcare Association’s collective approach and the importance of direct exchanges with public decision-makers, in order to work together to develop appropriate responses to current challenges. French Healthcare Association continues to play a central role in promoting French excellence in healthcare, bringing together companies, institutions and experts to build an innovative and resilient industry with an international outlook.
